Job Title: Data Centre Controls Engineer

As part of the global controls team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data centre industry. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining the BMS and EPMS. You will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to help deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing extensive capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers. Key Responsibilities
• Train and assist internal teams and stakeholders in the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
• Provide technical support to operations throughout the data centre lifecycle.
• Review results and action items from quarterly BMS and EPMS maintenance and ensure resolution.
• Develop project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and levels of effort for BMS and EPMS-related projects.
• Manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution of improvement projects in data centres.
• Support procurement activities including RFQs/RFPs, vendor proposals, and issuing purchase orders.
• Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and report regularly on status.
• Support commissioning activities related to controls projects.
• Review, implement, troubleshoot, and refine controls sequence of operation (SOO).
• Develop and modify control logic, programming, and graphical interfaces.
• Create control panel BOMs, cable routing plans, and schedules.
• Produce technical drawings for control panels and power/junction boxes, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements.
• Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
• Operate within data centres to troubleshoot issues, meet with stakeholders, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering, plus 3+ years of relevant controls experience; OR 8+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
• 3+ years of on-site experience in industrial controls within critical environments (e.g. data centres, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, petrochemical), including work with systems such as Tridium Niagara, Trend, Schneider Electric, Distech, or Ignition.
• 2+ years of general project or vendor management experience (e.g. RFPs, bidding, RFIs, quality control) related to construction/project execution.
• Experience with EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems).
• Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems).

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems.
• Skilled in programming and troubleshooting Trend, Niagara N4, Distech, Schneider, Ignition.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS.
• Proficient in MS Office, Visio, and MS Project.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate complex environments.
